ABRS and Helpers Course
We are pleased to announce that we are going to be opening a 'course night' every Thursday for children who would like to participate in a recognised qualification via the
ABRS (Association of British Riding Schools).
The courses will include introductory tests A to E in Equitation and Stable Management which provide a very gentle introduction for very young children or nervous riders.
Equitation tests from level 1 which encompasses the most basic aspects of learning to ride, progressing through to Test 10, which includes lateral work and riding a dressage test. Jumping is not mandatory and alternative sections are available for those opting not to jump.
Helpers Course' where any child 10+ can gain the skills that they will need to enable them to work on any yard such as ourselves. All children who have completed the course successfully wil be considered for helper positions during weekends and or school holidays.
The course will be held every Thursday evening between 4.30pm - 6.30pm (depending on age group) and will last for an hour per class. The cost will be £10 per class. A formal certificate is awarded for every test and a smart badge can be bought. The tests are recognised nationally as a respected standard of equestrian achievement.Bookings will be taken from Saturday 23rd February 2010.
