Chantal on Othello.
Chantal is a Dutch born fully qualified Yoga instructor and a horse rider she has the following to say about yoga combined with riding.
“Yoga is an excellent way to gain confidence and improve your seat when riding a horse. It is open to all ages and abilities and is an excellent way to improve and strengthen your core. Developing your core strength helps you to develop body awareness. Body awareness is about knowing where our various body parts are in space and what they're doing. The core of the body is all the muscles of the torso without the head, the arms, or the legs. It does, however, include the buttock muscles (gluteals). Some would even include thigh muscles."

Each 30 minute session will be 10 minutes warm up on the ground practicing the various movements that you will be doing once on the simulator. Then the remainder of the time is on Othello performing the movements you have learnt. This will be related to your riding and posture and can at a later date even be practised on a real horse.
The exercises will be dependent on the flexibility and experience of the individual but may include:
Taking legs out of the stirrups and holding arms out to the side.
Twisting to one side opening your legs out to the side in a split.
Bringing your knees up with arms straight out in front of you.
Bringing your knees up with arms out to the side.
All this can be done in the safe environment of a one to one with Chantal and without the concern about falling off a real horse.
For those of you who wish to practice the more traditional form of Yoga Chantal is also able to offer private sessions without the riding element
Half Hour Sessions are £20.00 per person.
Small groups of up to three people can be accommodated, allow more time for a group booking.
